The OMEN X laptop comes in 15-inch and 17-inch versions, both equipped with NVIDIA G-Sync and optional, overclocked NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics cards. If you feel the need to upgrade RAM, the SSDs or make your own adjustments, you can unscrew a single panel with a Philips screwdriver and get to work. HP says that the hardware will be packed with Intel 7th generation processor which is quite disappointing since all the laptops in the similar category consist 8th generation processor.

While the base model ships with a GTX 1070 with a 1080p display, 16GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD / 1TB HDD for $1,999, you can go all the way and spend $3699 on a GTX 1080 with 4K display, 32GB of RAM, and 2 x 1TB of SSD storage / 1TB HDD.

The top model also includes an overclockable Core i7-7820HK processor instead of the Core i7-7700HQ found in the entry and mid-level models. If you’re interested in a 4K display model with a GTX 1080 and 32GB of RAM, there’s a middle model that’s priced at $2,349.

Connectivity options are aplenty. You get 3x USB 3.0 Type A ports, 2x Thunderbolt 3-certified USB 3.1 Type C ports, 1x HDMI 2.0A with HDR port, a Mini DisplayPort, an RJ45 ethernet slot and an SD card reader. Separate microphone and headphone jacks are also available. HP says that the laptop will go on sale in November starting at $1,999 in the US.
