Of the four product categories, the printing space grabbed most of the attention, with over 13 models launched in this category. The company also announced the launch of Snapfish, a leading consumer online photo service, in India by the end of this year, with the idea of making it easier for consumers to get high quality prints and photo projects at home, online and retail.

The broad offering in the printing space was done under HP’s New Print 2.0 strategy, which is expected to consolidate HP’s position in the home, online and retail-printing segment.

“We will be primarily focused on extending our digital publishing platform to allow consumers to print or share their content wherever they are and whenever they choose,” said Christopher Morgan, senior vice president, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.

In the personal mobile space, HP debuted five new iPaqs -- two business-oriented PDA-phones, two PDAs and one GPS navigation device.

The lead product out of the bunch was its iPaq 612 Business Navigator, which includes a raised touch-sensitive circular edge on the keypad for navigation.

Further, the product range included two special edition of consumer notebook PCs also.

On the Computing side, Chin Hon Cheng, vice president, Consumer Products and Mobile Business Group, Personal Systems Group, HP Asia Pacific & Japan said, “HP will, increasingly focus on giving more personal experience in computing. We believe the concept of ‘personal’ takes many forms. It can be a more natural user interface using touch, or the high gloss finish that personifies elegance. So we will continue to innovate in products and designs.”
