HP launches Wi-Fi portable notebook

NEW DELHI: Hewlett-Packard has announced the launch of hp nx9000 advantage - its Wi-Fi ready notebook. The product is designed to cater to the needs of executives and professionals across businesses and industries. The hp nx9000 portable is priced at Rs 96,000.



According to the company, the Wi-Fi or wireless fidelity technology enhanced notebook will allow mobile professionals high-speed access to any wireless LAN (WLAN) and mobile access device. The technology allows a user to get connected to the Internet without using 'wire'.



This access is however possible when an individuals is located within 100 mtrs of a base station or a 'hot spot'. In India, there are about 100 such hotspots in hotels and office blocks.



Speaking on the occasion, HP PSG- VP, Ravi Swaminathan, said that HP believes in incorporating innovative technologies that help increase productivity and improve performance. "The price makes the value proposition of staying connected both professionally and personally very attractive.



The HP nx9000 is designed to offer individuals with the flexibility and the ability to script their own success, on their own terms and across any profession".The HP Compaq Business Notebook nx9000 is powered by Mobile Intel P4 M Processor, large capacity hard drives, wide range of expandable memory, available wireless capabilities and modems/Ethernet communications. The Microsoft Windows XP Professional is also pre-installed in the notebook.
