HP launches PC with Windows XP

BANGALORE: Hewlett-Packard India has launched their hp pavilion 8980 Home PC

with Windows XP operating system. The hp pavilion 8980 features Intel Pentium 4

processor with 1.5 GHz, 128MB 133 MHz SDRAM memory (expandable to 1 GB), 40 GB

Ultra DMA hard disk drive, video graphic and network card, and also includes

special features of front access 2 USB and 1 serial port.

The hp pavilion 8980 Home PC with Windows XP operating system will allow

consumers to easily burn CDs, edit video, take advantage of digital photography

and manage multimedia applications easily. In addition, the new operating system

provides multi-user login capability, which allows users to set up several

different accounts with varying user privileges on their hp pavilion PC; greater

online security and allows users to set up a home network.

The hp pavilion 8980 has also bundled software such as MS Money 2001

Standard, MediaMatics VCD player entertainment software and imaging software

such as PhotoStudio, PhotoFantasy and Multimedia email among others.

HP pavilion 8980 is available in all HP retail stores across the country. It

comes with a one-year hardware warranty and with up-and-running phone support

for first 30 days. Introductory offers would include attractive bundles with HP

Peripherals.

HP introduces LaserJet Printer for SMEs



Hewlett-Packard India has introduced HP LaserJet 1000, which is a simple,
easy to install, entry level printer for entrepreneurial businesses, home

businesses and telecommuters who need reliable, professional-quality laser

printing at a personal printer price. The HP LaserJet 1000 is available at a

street price of Rs 17,500.

The HP LaserJet 1000 can produce 600 dpi images with an effective output

appearance of 1200 dpi. This is achieved by using HP's Resolution Enhancement

Technology (RET) that smoothens the rough and jagged edges of printed text and

line art.
