HP introduces new range of Pavilion Home PCs

BANGALORE: Hewlett-Packard India (HP) has announced their plans for the Home PC market. These include the introduction of a new range of Pavilion Home PCs - the 6500 and 8500 series and expansion of retail outlets from 60 to 120 in more than 40 cities. The company also plans to increase its focus on the upcountry markets.



HP India aims to increase sales of its Home PCs by about 200 per cent. All the models of the HP Pavilion multimedia Home PC range are the same classy design using hues of Flint, Slate and Titanium Gray. These Home PCs are targeted at the E-Family who are using the Internet by buying a Home PC. The prices of the models range from Rs 48,999 to Rs 92,999.



HP's Internet keyboard comes with seven keys and all HP Home PCs offer a 56K data fax-modem, free Satyam Internet connection and finance schemes for purchase options through Countrywide and Associates Financial Services. The 6500 and 8500 series provide multimedia capabilities and DVD drives. The PCs come bundled with Windows 98 along with some productivity and entertainment software products.
