HP expands digital camera portfolio

NEW DELHI: Hewlett-Packard, the world's leading consumer technology company, announced here on Friday the launch of three new digital cameras for the Indian market. The new line of cameras, which are targeted at anyone interested in photography, include the HP Photosmart m307, m407 and r717 digital cameras with HP Instant Share and is available for prices ranging from Rs 7,999 to Rs 19,999.



With these launches HP plans to gain a major share of the Indian digital still camera market, which is expected to notch up revenues of Rs. 3,667 million in 2005. In order to promote its digital cameras in India, HP will leverage its strong retail network of over 4000 digital photo studios, and its 200 premium retail outlets that ensure a wide reach.



HP's new line of cameras include the HP Photosmart m307, m407 and r717 digital cameras with HP Instant Share and offer users quality, simplicity and style at prices ranging from Rs 7,999 to Rs 19,999.



Commenting on the launch, Ashwini Aggarwal, country manager for Digital Photography, Hewlett Packard India, said, "The digital camera market is a nascent though extremely promising one, with 100% growth expected every year. We at HP realize this potential and are committed in our endeavor to create an end-to-end digital imaging experience for our customers."



The digital cameras come with features called HP Real Technologies. These include HP Instant Share which allows users to share photos by sending an invitation to view, HP Image Zone software which is pre - loaded onto the camera and helps users organize, edit and enhance pictures among many others.
