HP computers to save energy

NEW YORK, USA: Hewlett-Packard Co, the world's largest personal computer maker, said on Tuesday it plans to cut the amount of energy consumed by its desktop and notebook computers by 25 per cent.

HP is seeking to cut the energy consumption of its computers by 2010, it said, adding that it plans to use components like more efficient power supplies and lower-energy chipsets.
