Santanu Ghosh, country head, Converged Infrastructure Solutions, said: "It accelerates automation of business applications on HP BladeSystem Matrix so as to implement service catalogues and deploy a private cloud. It took us four to five years of research in HP Labs to come out with this template with which ISVs can deploy cloud without changing code, which will in turn address the time and resource constraints. They give tools to create catalogues yourself, quickly and consistently."

HP's BladeSystem Matrix, today known as CloudSystem, is the company's converged infrastructure solution.

"Economics will compel people to go for cloud. Cloud is a paradigm shift in the way we are doing IT. It is no more a hype. India has a lot of independent software vendors (ISVs), however they do not have means for marketing their appliances. This will give them a way to get in to the market," he added.

"To move towards cloud we need virtualisation and automation. Today only fifty per cent of VMs created are utilised. The potential is huge, however, we are only scratching the surface. It will happen only when ISVs' application start getting deployed in cloud," he added.

There are three versions of CloudSystem - CloudSystem Matrix, CloudSystem Enterprise and CloudSystem Service Provider, which are equipped with HP's TippingPoint, Arksight and Fortify solutions to address security issues.

"There are enough technologies today to address the security issues from a technology perspective. However, security over cloud is more of a mental perspective."

HP has completed over 80 deployments of its CloudSytem, including BladeSystem, and has 45 customers, mainly from IT and ITeS, BFSI and telecom sectors, including Sify and Mahindra in India.
