BANGALORE: World’s second largest personal computer maker Hewlett-Packard has launched the worldwide HP Mobile e-Services Bazaar program in India. This new initiative is a dynamic marketplace of solutions and technologies for the emerging mobile e-services.

Located around the world, with regional hubs at Silicon Valley, Helsinki, Singapore and Tokyo, this new initiative is an incubator that turns new ideas and technologies into real world solutions for operators and enterprises, who can then collaborate to fuel the rapid development of innovative new e-services.

Participants include application, technology and utility providers like mobile service providers, system integrators, venture capitalists and customers. They will be able to view and test new mobile e-services, join special interest group like DSP, access relevant information and gain info on innovative and new solutions.

Peter Vesterbacka, Founder, Global Leader Business Enablement, HP Mobile e-Services Bazaar, said, "Mobile e-services are increasingly critical for doing business today. Our new initiative acts as a catalyst for the creation of mobile e-services by providing an environment for hundreds of our members to incubate new ideas, strategies and technologies."

"In India, the market for mobile services is significantly increasing and we plan to leverage this huge base for our Bazaar initiative. As of now, we are in talks with the leading five operators in India and will target the others service providers in due course of time," he said.

As part of this new initiative, the company has begun the DSP (Developer Solution Partner) Program targeted at the software developer, telecom and operators segment spread across the industry. Currently, they have enrolled around 120 partners for this program and plan to make it as an interactive community for exchanging new ideas and creations and turn them into real world solutions. These solutions can in turn be offered as one-stop shop valued added services to customers.

Plans are on to open a dedicated innovation center in Bangalore. Globally, the company has around fifty employees working on this initiative and has nearly 700 partners for this project.

The Bazaar will showcase pioneering technology in wireless applications as well as business paradigms and roadmaps for the future of e-mobility. Latest technologies like broadband, m-commerce, 3G, WAP, mobile security and wireless multimedia solutions will be discussed at the event termed 'HP-Dynamo' events by experts in their particular fields.
