According to a company release, Pascoe will discuss the realities of SMS spam and the threats it poses to users today. Also, as smartphone adoption continues to rise, mobile users are more vulnerable to threats such as malware and worms. The presentation will also focus on how operators can prevent attacks and ensure that data remains protected and private, highlighting techniques such as network monitoring and content filtering.

Tekelec's mobile messaging solutions enable operators to optimize their SMS networks, protect them from attacks, generate new revenue streams and evolve to Internet protocol (IP)-based messaging using Tekelec's IP short messaging gateway (IP-SM-GW).
