MIAMI, USA: It all began in the typical way a romance blooms in cyber space. The boy meets the girl, chats, offers friendship. Slowly it becomes romance, and then the 'indecent proposal'...

Here also the online romance takes a passionate turn and the chats and emails become passionate and sexually charged.

And finally the story goes and hits the iceberg of an anticlimax! Again there is nothing unusual – except that the hero who got cheated in the chatroom is no one other than the son of Cuban leader Fidel Castro - Antonio Castro. And the beautiful lady who enamored young Castro was a Cuban exile blogger from Miami, named Luis Dominguez, who was disguised as Claudia, a 27-year-old Colombian sports journalist.

The blogger said he used a female Internet alter ego to gain access to a member of the usually impervious family of Fidel Castro to expose the "opulent lifestyles" of the Castros.

Dominguez said he played this prank to ''shatter the myth of an impenetrable'' security system, said a media report. And for this he made use of Antonio Castro's alleged weakness for young women and sports.

The Castro family has had a massive security cordon around it for decades, mainly because of the many attempts to remove the island's communist government from power, according to reports.

Once the romance blossomed some eight months back, Antonio shared many a personal detail with the young lady including his daily life in Cuba and his trips around the world with his uncle Raul, the Cuban president. However, he was sensible enough not to reveal any state secrets, said the blogger.

Dominguez said he had no apology for violating Antonio Castro's privacy. He said he achieved his goal by exposing the lifestyle of the Castros, who live in a communist country.

“While everyday Cubans were banned from using the Internet cafés in Havana hotels, this guy had a Black Berry and unlimited access to the web,” Dominguez told the Miami Herald newspaper, which ran transcripts of 'Claudia' and Castro's chat room conversations during the weekend.

“You know something, I want something more with you,” Antonio reportedly told his 'love' through his Yahoo account, tonycsport@yahoo.ca.

''I have a desire to kiss you,'' he offered in another. And in another chat he went a step further and said he wanted to “kiss you, love you and make love to you”.

Interestingly, the 40-year-old Castro is engaged to a 26-year-old TV producer in Havana. But love knows no iron wall isn't it?

Of course, the sting operation shows even the iron curtain is penetrable? But what about the question of ethics?
