Honor 7C with 5.99-inch HD+ screen and Face Unlock launched in China

To compete with the popularity of Redmi's smartphones, Huawei has launched the budget-friendly version of Honor 7X dubbed as Honor 7C in China. The handset which features an HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio will go on sale in the Chinese markets starting today.

The dual-SIM device which runs on EMUI 8.0 on top of Android Oreo out of the box, is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM. One of the major highlights of the device is that it supports Face Unlock feature which until now was only present in high-end smartphones. But the popularity of the feature in smartphones like OnePlus 5T, iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus have convinced Huawei to add the feature in its mid-level budgeted smartphones.

In terms of optics, the device sports a dual camera setup on the back with a 13-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary sensor with autofocus and f/2.2 aperture. For selfie lovers, the handset has an 8-megapixel camera at the front with fixed focus and f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is backed by a 3000 mAh battery.

Honor 7C comes in two variants- 3GB RAM/32GB internal memory priced at CNY 899 and 4GB RAM/ 64GB internal memory priced at CNY 1,299. The device will be available in four colours- Charm Flame Red, Magic Night Black, Platinum Light Gold and Charm Blue colours.

Other features include 4G LTE, 3.5mm headphone jack Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, micro USB, FM Radio, fingerprint scanner and GPS.
