Home Retail says eyeing Argos India expansion

LONDON - Britain's Home Retail Group is eyeing India as a possible future market for it Argos chain of stores, Finance Director Richard Ashton said.

"India is a possible area we'd consider in the future. We're not active there, but we're keeping an eye on it," he added.

Last week, Trade magazine Retail Week said that Argos could soon do a joint venture deal with K. Raheja Corp., that numbers Shoppers' Stop and HyerCity among its operations.
