Hike enhances app for poor network conditions

The new version of Hike allows users to make calls over 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi in over 200 countries

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Instant messaging app Hike, has released the updated version optimized for low-end phones and particularly extremely poor network conditions.

It is already available for Android users and the updates for Apple users will start rolling out next week.

The new version allows users to make calls over 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi in over 200 countries. Users can also transfer any kind of file such as Documents, PDF, Zip, etc. of up to 100MB in size.

As a part of the new update Hike has also launched ‘News’ on hike, a service that allows users on the platform to get quick bite sized news updates in just under a 100 characters.

The latest release also allows up to 500 members in a single Group Chat and introduced the ability to have multiple admins in a Group Chat to manage groups better making it extremely easy for big groups to be managed on hike.

User can also hide their private chats with a password on Hidden Mode.

hike has launched photo filters and doodles to allow consumers to have fun and spice up their photos amongst a few other new upgrades to the app. The new sticker suggestions recommends stickers as you type to easily express yourself.

Kavin Bharti Mittal, CEO & Founder, hike said "We're not stopping here. We've got a lot more coming. Expect us to release one big new feature on top of this every month until the end of the year."
