On Thursday, too, many celebrities and politicians paid a visit to the residence of the ailing patriarch of the Maharashtra-based party.

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, who visited Thackeray on Wednesday, had tweeted that when he was recuperating after an accident on the sets of Coolie, the fiery politician had visited him with a cartoon, Yamraj Defeated. The legendary actor also added that how he wished that he could repay the gesture, had he been gifted with such cartooning finesse.

The cartoonist life of Thackeray had, actually, kickstarted during his stint with The Free Press Journal in Mumbai. He, then, launched his own political weekly, Marmik, in 1960. He is also the founder of Saamana, a Marathi vernacular daily, and the Hindi newspaper Dophar Ka Saamana.
