HealthifyMe raises its second series funding, to expand globally

BANGALORE, INDIA: HealthifyMe, a startup in healthcare sector has announced their second round of funding. They had raised their seed funding in 2012.

.The second round of funding has been raised from angel investors comprising of Gopal Srinivasan (TVS Capital), Sashi Reddi (AppLabs), Amit Gupta (InMobi), Pallav Nadhani (FusionCharts) and Dr Roopa Nath, and Micromax.

The startup's app have already crossed 100,000 users and will now come bundled with Micromax handsets. Also, Micromax's  recently launched YuFit fitness band will only be functional with HealthifyMe app.

HealthifyMe will now establish their global head-quarters in Singapore, thus expanding globally.

"Currently having 200 nutritionists  on board, the company intends to use the funds for growth and is planning to hire more than 1,000 nutritionists and fitness trainers," Tushar Vashist , CEO and co-founder.

With this funding, HealthifyMe also plans to introduce several low cost plans among other offerings. These plans will include in-app real-time access to nutritionists or trainers or yoga instructors who work digitally with the user on their personal fitness and weight loss objectives.

HealthifyMe’s app allows customers to keep a track of their diet and workout progress, anytime and anywhere. Built for the Indian customer, HealthifyMe provides access to the world’s first and largest Indian food database, a sophisticated calorie counter for regional foods and a thorough exercise tracker for logging in physical activities.

HealthifyMe also works in partnership with health institutes such as Medanta, Apollo and Manipal, where the app has been used in treating and preventing clinical obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular problems and other lifestyle diseases.
