HCL ties up with Orion Edutech

BANGALORE, INDIA: Indian IT firm HCL Technologies Ltd and Orion Edutech Pvt Ltd, a BPO training institute today jointly announced the launch of a unique and innovative initiative to address the emergent issue of talent in the BPO industry.

Under the agreement Orion will customize its Diploma in BPO Management (DIBM) to suit HCL’s industry specific talent requirement, said a press release.

This programme will be called the 'Orion Diploma in BPO Management — Powered by HCL'.

As per the terms of the partnership, selected candidates from the diploma will be absorbed into HCL as project trainees. On completion of the in-house three-month training cum probation, selected candidates will be awarded with the diploma and will be made full time employees of the company's business services division, the release added.

This exclusive tie-up with Orion bolsters HCL’s strategy to provide customers with the Next Generation business services delivered by a world-class pool of talent.

“Keeping in mind the growing demand for outsourcing across industries there is the need to nurture skilled professionals who are keen to pursue stable careers in the ITeS industry. Structured programs in BPO Management is required to address this need, and HCL is delighted to tie-up with Orion to create the Orion Diploma in BPO Management — Powered by HCL,” said Subrat Chakravarty, HR head - Business Services, HCL Technologies Ltd.

He added that the partnership with Orion will ensure that employees grow both professionally and academically. This alliance with Orion supports HCL’s constant endeavour to create, build and sustain a long term career path for employees.

“According to NASSCOM, only 10 to 15 per cent of Indian graduates are employable in the BPO sector.
