HCL tech to build software for Toshiba unit

NEW DELHI: Information technology firm, HCL Technologies Ltd., said on Friday

that it had signed an agreement to set up a dedicated offshore software

development center, for a unit of Japan's Toshiba Corp in India.

An HCL Tech statement said the center would develop cutting edge embedded

software for mobile and wireless technology for Toshiba Information System

(Japan) Corp. The center will be located at HCL Technologies' facilities on the

outskirts of Delhi.

Toshiba Information is a systems integrator and a leading software supplier

for mobile phones, Internet appliances and intelligent transportation systems.
