HCL signs MoU with SP Jain College

BANGALORE, INDIA: HCL Technologies (HCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with S P Jain College, a global business school with international branches in Dubai and Singapore.

HCL will partner with SP Jain to offer students customised programs aimed at extending leadership knowledge and ‘hands on’ industry experience. The program will aim at providing students knowledge on key concepts of leadership development, disruptive innovation, entrepreneurial thinking and research.

During the program, HCL will work towards co-creating value for the students by following a unique approach that will include offering extensive industry exposure and guidance from industry stalwarts, campus visits to develop understanding on work flow and culture, providing students with a platform to interact with students from other premium institutes and awarding students with special HCL innovation and creativity awards.

Ravi Shankar, global head, Talent Management Group, HCL Technologies, said: “HCL’s MoU with S P Jain is an extension of HCL’s endeavour to contribute to the industry better and skilled professionals who are in tune with the volatile market situations. Through this partnership we intend to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and actual industry requirements. Our focused and active involvement with the students across campuses will be providing them with specific technical and managerial skills. With this agreement we are looking forward to knowledge sharing, exchanging an array of proactive ideas and in enhancing and enriching student’s curriculum.”

The MoU, a bilateral agreement, will be focused towards equipping students with better understanding of key strategic initiatives and business functions through industry driven course content. The collaboration will also aim at streamlining student’s thoughts for real world decision by offering talks on IT careers, special sessions with HCL leadership team, workshops on ‘IT Services Marketing’ and mentoring sessions. HCL will also include their financial services professionals to help SP Jain in their finance courses and will assist them in subjects related to capital markets.

The MoU signed becomes effective for the new batch of students starting with the academic year 2008- 2010. HCL Technologies shall be extending their full support to SP Jain in grooming students as complete professionals with apt theoretical and practical knowledge. Students from Dubai and  Singapore will be a part of this initiative.
