BANGALORE, INDIA: SAP president Sanjay Poonen has written a poem praising SAP's breakaway-hit, database product called Hana, where he pokes fun at his arch-rival Oracle founder Larry Ellison.
Sanjay, who is by the way also the lyricist of the song 'Hana is a Winner', wrote it to the tune of a popular song by Ray Charles. He took the stage at the SAP Field Kickoff North America 2013, in Las Vegas, recently along with Corwyn Hodges and sang:
"Well, Hana is a winner
Way over town
That's good to me
She is a big time winner
Hana gives me money
When I'm in need
She is the kind of
Kind of friend indeed"
And, half way through the song he sang:
"Hana's got Larry's number
Both day and night
I've Got Oracle all fussing
Beat them left and right
I've got reps scared running
Leaving us alone
Put them in their right place m' all
Packing straight to home"
Well, now this is something that does not happen on a daily basis. Executives praising his/her product and claiming it to be better than that of their competitors' is not new, but this definitely is. Hope that we will get to see many more such extra curricular activities from executives.
