Groupon re-brands its website for India

CHICAGO, USA: The deal-of-the-day website Groupon today announced that it has re-branded its India business as Crazeal.com (www.crazeal.com).

Earlier known as SoSasta.com, crazeal.com will help consumers across 11 cities to experience the best of local commerce.

Partnering with premium merchants, Crazeal.com will offer deals to consumers in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi/NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune, said a press release.

In addition, a new leadership team whose experience expanses the Internet, sales, and digital industries in India and abroad, will take charge of delivering the ultimate Crazeal.com experience to consumers, thus ensuring quality deals for consumers to come back again to indulge in activities in their city with friends and family.

Ankur Warikoo has been named the CEO of Crazeal.com and he will be responsible for growing the business in India. An alumnus of the Indian School of Business, more recently Ankur co-founded Accentium Web and served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Rocket Internet GmbH.

“Groupon Inc’s DNA is intrinsic to Crazeal.com and we know what it takes to be the leader in this industry. Having pioneered the online deal industry and emerged as the top player in markets around the world we are confident that this is the right time for us to provide the discerning Indian consumer with the Crazeal.com experience,” said Ankur Warikoo, CEO, Crazeal.com.

He further added that they are identifying merchants with high quality offerings, expanding to newer cities and above all, enabling social commerce to help consumers avail of the best that their city has to offer.

Crazeal has also appointed Bharath Devanathan as COO and Sachin Kapur as Head of Marketing. A graduate of INSEAD, Bharath has worked at Yahoo and Booz & Company before joining Crazeal.

To strengthen the Crazeal.com network across India, the company has appointed a core team of six sales directors in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata to build the Local Service, National Products and National Travel verticals.

Partnering with Crazeal to take the country’s best deals to consumers will be a host of merchants such as Claridges, Domino's, Cafe Coffee Day for national deals and Kainoosh, Olivea, Crowne Plaza and Amoda Spa for local deals.
