Govt malware and open letter from Bits of Freedom

BANGALORE, INDIA: ESET, global provider of security solutions for businesses and consumers, responded for the open letter sent from 'Bits of Freedom' on detection of Government malware. A coalition of digital rights organizations and academics recently published an 'open letter' to the Anti-Malware/Anti-Virus industry, and sent copies to individual vendors, including ESET.

The letter asks for clarification on vendor policies as regards cooperation with government agencies and/or law enforcement using state-sponsored Trojans. ESET responded on all the questions sent by providing the details on the detected malware alleged to be used by government agencies.

Richard Marko, CEO at ESET said, "Our mission is to allow everyone to enjoy a safer digital world. It's our job to detect malware, and our customers expect us to deal with it when we find it. There is no such thing as a good Trojan and any such code can turn malicious in the hands of crooks and terrorists"

It defines itself as an influential civil rights movement to ensure that government and business bad policy reversal and introduce good policy.
