MUMBAI: Sale of personal computers in India during January-March quarter reached 2.16 million, showing a rise of 10.25 percent from year ago, an industry body said on Monday.
Worldwide personal computer shipments in the first quarter of 2007 were up 8.9 percent to 62.7 million units, Gartner said in a statement.
In India, as much as 28 percent of the total demand came from the government segment, Gartner said.
The quarter also saw large enterprises - those with more than 1,500 employees - increase their computer buying, Gartner said.
