BANGALORE, INDIA: Google Motion is not an April fool prank at all. Ramaprasanna Chellamuthu has made it a reality by developing his own Motion version. He gave life to the concept, barely days after the search engine giant fooled the entire world with its 'latest technology'.

Called Ram Motion, this latest technology makes sending and receiving e-mails easier. That too without touching the key board in front of you. All you need is do some 'exercises' with your hands.

The system works on Kinect

“The computer or laptop connected to a Kinect device will do the e-mailing for you. You don't need a key-board to login into your account. All you have to do is wave your right hand standing within a distance of six feet from the Kinect. The system has been programmed in a way that the computer picks up the gestures from Kinect and login into the account,” he said.

As of now, a total of five gestures have been programmed into the device based on .Net and Visual Studio applications. “You can send reply to the mails by turning the thumb backward, exactly like the demo in the prank Google Motion,” he added.

Ramaprasanna, a developer evangelist at Microsoft, says it is just a proof of concept now and requires a little more effort and time to make it  prevalent. He claimed that it took him just two hours to develop the Ram motion. “I was attending a seminar on Google's Android operating system when the search engine giant released the prank Motion. As soon as I saw the Motion, a spark triggered in my mind and I thought of making it a reality. I went back home and worked on it and hence this Ram Motion.”

Ramaprasanna is confident that keyboards will disappear in a matter of five years and Natural User Interface (NUI) technology will take over. “Technology is fast growing. Keyboards will be phased out in five years. Latest technologies like NUI and Brain Machine Interface (BMI) will sound the death knell for keyboards. NUI and BMI will make e-mailing much easier and faster.”

Huge response on Facebook, Twitter

His latest finding has a lot of fan following on his Facebook as well as Twitter accounts. A tweet said 'Ramaprasanna makes Google's googly a normal one' and yet another tweeted 'e-mailing has become just an exercise now'.

Ramaprasanna has also developed a system Winfotain, which alerts the driver when he dozes off inside the car while on the move.
