This tab will reveal a curated list of recommendations on places to eat and drink like “best dinners,” “cheap eats” or “business dining,” around you or in any location you choose. Besides, with one tap you can collect more information on about nearby grocery stores, ATMs, gas stations, and pharmacies. Users can also "peek at images of the area or read a short description of the neighbourhood to get the lay of the land."

2. Driving:

If you have your home and work addresses saved in Google Maps, you’ll see real-time ETAs to home and to work. At the same time, the app will also reveal nearby traffic conditions report and expected delays on the road ahead. And for those who know the route well, the app will provide real-time traffic info as you take your usual route, you can tap on “start driving” to go directly into driving mode.

3. Public transport:

Once you save you home and work address in the Google Maps, it will also show you a recommendation for which bus or train to take, when is the next one arriving, and an ETA for when you’ll arrive at work or home. In case, you’re headed somewhere else; you can swipe down to find nearby transit stations along with real-time schedules.

These options were already available within the Maps; the latest update has just made it easier to access the options.

The update has already been rolled out to Android users. However, the company is yet to confirm the launch date for iOS users.
