“We have seen massive adoption of Google cloud computing applications globally and by Indian enterprises. Globally 3000 businesses start using Google application every day and 30 million users come on board. In India we have approximately one million enterprises that use our applications available on Google Cloud Connect. By next year we expect this number to reach 2 million,” said Amit Singh, vice president, International Sales and Operations, Enterprise at Google.

While elaborating on Google's vision for cloud and enterprise strategy in India, Google showcased its upcoming Google Cloud Connect that can sync basic Microsoft Office documents with Google docs.

“You can share MS Office documents with your colleague on Google Cloud Connect. This sync will happen with the click of a button. Most important is that it is a free-of-cost application,” said Singh.

Google mentioned that Google Cloud Connect is built on open API issued by Microsoft.

“As a user every one has the right to build solution using open API by any company. We have built this plug-in solution using open API issued by Microsoft,” said Singh.

When pointed out that Microsoft is also providing direct sync option of its application to its cloud platform, Singh mentioned that there are a number of users whodo not have access to Microsoft cloud service, and Google Cloud Connect will help them bringing their documents on cloud.
