The 18-story building has about 2.9 million square feet of space and covers an entire city block, the Post said. Current tenants include Google, Barnes & Noble Inc and Nike Inc.

The group of sellers includes Taconic Partners, Jamestown and the New York State Common Retirement, the paper said.

Google is looking to engage top real estate law firms to represent the company in the building deal, the Post said citing sources. It said the deal could still change or fall apart and it could not be determined if a contract has been signed.

The company could not immediately be reached for comment by Reuters outside regular U.S. business hours
