Good Technology acquires JP Mobile assets

HYDERABAD: Good Technology, provider of industry standards based wireless handheld computing software and service, has announced that it has acquired key technology assets and engineering talents from JP Mobile, Inc.

JP Mobile, a pioneer in wireless handheld computing, was founded in 1995 and has maintained operations in Dallas and Hyderabad, both of which will be integrated into Good.



According to the press release, building on Good Technology's strategy to deliver the wireless technologies and services that best meet the needs of the enterprise, the acquisition gives Good Technology access to advanced server technologies that connect with a variety of back-ends, including IBM Lotus Notes and Domino, Novell GroupWise and IMAP.

JP Mobile also brings to Good Technology key handheld data security technologies and key team members with significant experience building mobile solutions for enterprises.

"By integrating key components of JP Mobile's server and security technologies with our GoodLink software, Good will be able to extend its mobile messaging and PIM system to all of the leading corporate messaging platforms, while simultaneously raising the bar for end-to-end integrated security on Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Palm OS platforms," said Good Technology CEO Danny Shader.

"With over 6500 corporate accounts, Good has proven that it meets the wireless handheld computing needs of the enterprise. The addition of JP Mobile technologies, expertise and intellectual property will help Good continue to meet the needs of large enterprises, and will accelerate the product development required to meet market demands," said CEO of JP Mobile Dayakar Puskoor.
