GoK to implement Aadhaar-based activities in school

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: The General Education Department of the Government of Kerala (GoK) will implement Aadhaar-based activities that includes include teachers' package, scholarships for students, grant, distribution of certificates, those connected with various competitions and data of employees in schools.

The General Education Department has been asked to complete the Unified Identification Number (UID) distribution to students. UID number will be issued to students and the facilities entitled to them are included in the websites- www.education.gov.in and www.itschool.gov.in.

The General Education Department has issued a circular to implement the Aadhaar based activities. The headmasters of each school have to include the list of students along with the UID in the website.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has already sent the details of school students to IT@school, a project of Department of General Education, Government of Kerala, and it has already been made online. Headmasters of each school have to check the accuracy of the details of each student.
