SAN FRANSICO: A forecast by market research firm iSuppli Corp has said Global photovoltaic (PV) systems installations will grow 43 percent next year to 20.2 gigawatts.

This projection has been done after taking into account that there are reduced incentives for solar offered by governments.

The firm said that the projected growth rate for PV installations next year would represent a significant drop off from growth of 98 percent in 2009.

The slowdown in PV installations is anticipated to happen due to cuts in feed-in-tariffs (FITS) in Germany and Italy next year.

Adding to this factor are budget concerns in Greece, Italy and Spain. Sources at iSuppli say that they are still expecting a big increase in PV installations next year.
