BANGALORE: Software solutions provider for the embedded, home networking and wireless technologies, Global Edge Software is planning to add 200 people to its existing workforce of 250 people. It plans to be 600 strong by 2008.

It plans to grow its revenue to Rs 100 crore by 2008 from last year's revenue of Rs 17 crore. It expects to end this year with a revenue of Rs 25 crore and hike it to Rs 40 crore during the next fiscal.

"We have some firm agreements signed up until 2005-06, so a target of Rs 40 crore is more than achievable. We are constantly growing at 70 percent since inception. We should be touching the 100 percent growth mark, after a couple of years," said, MP Kumar, Chairman and CEO, Global Edge.

Having received a investment of $ one million, three years ago, from Global Technology Ventures, the company has an invitation to set up its development center in the GTV's technology campus in Mysore Road. Apart from GTV, employees of the company hold about 10 to 20 percent stake in the company and the promoters hold the rest.

Incepted in 1992 as Srujana Technologies, Global Edge is operating out of a center in Bangalore, plans to add space in the city to accommodate the 200 hires. "Despite its infrastructure issues, Bangalore continues to be the best place with skilled manpower in this niche technology area," added Kumar, as reasons for not moving to another city in the country, for an additional center.

With a client list reading Analog Devices, Samsung, Cony, Philips and US based Marvel, the company's vision is to "work toward building world class organisation building solution or embedded, home networking and wireless technologies."
