BANGALORE: Yahoo! India has launched a service to mobile phones users in India, enabling users to customize their handsets with their own pictures. For this, the users need a GIF or a JPEG or BMP image, which they want to be uploaded on their handsets. After logging into the Yahoo! India Mobile site (http://mobile.yahoo.co.in), the users need to click on the Yahoo! Photo SMS icon and select any BMP or JPEG or GIF image from the computer.

After selecting the picture to convert the photo either into an operator logo or picture message, a user can use the tools available in the application to choose the area to use from the photo and click on the mobile button to generate the logo/picture message.

Once the process is completed, click on the submit button and this will generate a unique code number, for that particular logo/picture message, then use your mobile phone to download the photo SMS that you just created OR forward it to a friend's mobile number.

The users can now use this service to upload the pictures of their loved ones, favourite stars, celebrities, etc to their mobile handsets. This service is part of the Yahoo! SMS offering (8243).

The other services offered by Yahoo! India Mobile includes Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo!Mail for SMS, downloads ringtones, logos and picture messages, dating, astrology, jokes and other fun applications, updates on Cricket, Stock prices and self composers for users to create own logo, picture message and ringtone.
