BANGALORE: A entertainment and IT Services company, GDR Media Ltd., has
bagged an order worth five million dollars, in the area of Business Process
Outsourcing (BPO), from an IT Consulting and ERP Service provider to the US
Government.
The project, is informed, to be implemented completely offshore, over a
period of one year, at GDR Media’s development centers in Bangalore and
Hyderabad along with joint venture partners who have been already identified.
GDR Media, chairman and managing director, G Dhananjaya Reddy said,
"This is our first major entry into the emerging BPO segment. The project
involves data processing of hospital records and patient case studies as also
conversion of image files into the client-specified formats".
Predicting a turnaround in GDR's growth plans, Reddy said that the company is
re-working its strategies vis-a-vis its core technology and business offerings.
Having made a impact in the entertainment and media industry, GDR plans to be a
full-service solution provider in the contact center, back-office and BPO areas.
"We are renewing our focus in the US, Europe and Asia — Pacific
markets and hope to achieve a turnover of Rs. 40 crores this fiscal," added
Reddy.
