Ganesh Natarajan appointed Nasscom chairman

HYDERABAD, INDIA: National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) today announced the appointment of Dr Ganesh Natarajan, deputy chairman and managing director of Zensar, as its chairman for the year 2008–09.

Genpact’s president and CEO Prasad Bhasin is the vice-chairman for the current year, Nasscom said in a statement.

Dr Natarajan has been associated with Nasscom for a number of years and has helped the apex industry body in setting up several initiatives focussed on innovation, as well as for the small and medium enterprises.

“An industry veteran, he (Dr Natarajan) is immensely respected and regarded by peers and colleagues not only for his adept leadership but also for his keen knowledge and focus on innovation, said Som Mittal, president, Nasscom, while announcing the appointments.

Mittal added that Bhasin has been leading the Association’s BPO Forum and hoped his vast experience will add immense value to the entire industry, bringing a sharper focus on the BPO segment.
