GajShield releases SecureGate V5

MUMBAI: GajShield Infotech (I) Pvt Ltd has released GajShield SecureGate V5, the fifth version (Version 5.0) of its Unified Threat Management (UTM) Soft Appliance product.

GajShield SecureGate is a powerful, enterprise class stateful-inspection firewall, protecting networks from intrusion. The version 5.0 is expected to provide strong authentication for further enhanced security.

The product is certified by the International Computer Security Association (ICSA Labs), a division of Cybertrust, Inc., USA.

GajShield is the first Indian company to achieve this certification for their products.

The new version of GajShield SecureGate incorporates a brand new Web Management Console for Firewall management with the context based help menu that would make it easier to move data.

It comprises a new Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) monitor that would allow any network monitoring system to monitor the Gajshield firewall. Also with this administrators can integrate NMS (Network Monitoring Systems) products like HP Openview, IBM Tivoli, CA Unicentre to capture information like CPU utilization, Network traffic, and Disk & Memory utilization for better management of their network.

A Remote Syslog would further allow system administrators to do the remote logging on Windows and Linux based Syslog server. By using Remote Syslog server administrator can take firewall logs, http virus logs, POP 3 virus logs, URL Filtering logs and browsing logs for in-depth analysis and reporting.

The version 5.0 also incorporates the enhanced Intrusion Prevention and Detection System that would allow administrators to define the intrusion prevention system rules and would further more assist to enable/disable each rule through the newly introduced Web Management Console.

A DHCP server has been introduced in this version that would allow administrators to assign the basic network parameters to systems in the network. This is useful for small to medium enterprises, as they need not require setting up a separate DHCP server thus reducing their management overheads.
