Here’s a round up of some interesting deals happened in the startup space throughout the second half of this week:

EFRAC:

Mauritius-based PE firm Mandala Capital has invested $10 million in Kolkata-based food testing lab EFRAC. The PE firm has taken 51% stake in the startup. The fund will be used to set up a US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) certified new pharma testing facility.

Instago, the app which helps users compare and book the cheapest mode of transport within the cities is raising $500,000 from multiple investors.

Razorpay:

MasterCard has invested an undisclosed amount in Razorpay, an online payment gateway solution for small and medium enterprises and platforms. The company had raised Rs 64 crore from Tiger Global in Series A and Matrix Partners along with multiple angel investors in the seed round.

PressPlay TV:

Delhi-based video content discovery platform PressPlay TV as raised an undisclosed amount in Series A round of funding from Sequoia Capital, SD Ventures and Vistaar Investment Advisors. PressPlay TV had earlier raised $2.2 million as seed funding from Sequoia Capital and had announced its plans to raise $3.5 million for its expansion.

Darwinbox:

SaaS based HR solutions startup, Darwinbox has raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding led by Mohandas Pai's 3one4 Capital, Tracxn Labs and Endiya Partners. The Hyderabad-based company plans to use the funds to develop more modules and to expand sales and marketing.

Scripbox :

The Bangalore-based startup, Scripbox, that uses proprietary algorithms to automate mutual fund recommendations to retail customers, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding led by Omidyar Network. VC fund Accel Partners, which invested in Scripbox’s series A last year, participated in this round too along with some individual investors, the company said in a press release on Thursday.

Meru Cabs:

Meru Cabs has raised a new round of funding of $ 25 million from Brand Capital, the investment arm of Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (BCCL). The company will use these funds to further strengthen its foothold in the Indian market with a focus on providing quality service based on a sustainable business model.

Campus Diaries:

Campus Diaries Media and Communications Pvt. Ltd, which operates a content discovery portal targeted at school and college students, has raised $220,000 from Aarin Capital and others in its second round of angel investment. The new funds will be used to develop the technology platform.

Koovs:

Online fashion portal, Koovs has announced the closing of the current round of capital raising (29 April to 30 June 2016), bringing the total capital raised during this round to £26.2 million. This is comprised of £23.2 million from a range of new and existing investors (including a further £1.0 million confirmed yesterday), and a £3.0 million strategic investment by HT Media Limited.
