Fullerton powers Indian school with Green energy

ANNUR, INDIA: Fullerton India Credit Company Ltd, recently commissioned a micro hybrid wind turbine to fulfil part of the power requirements of the KG Matriculation & Higher Secondary School at Annur, Tamil Nadu.

The new wind turbine of 600 W capacity along with a 250W Solar Panel will help the school run fans and lights during long power outages in the area, said a release.

The company installed hybrid wind & solar energy system at the Annur school, as part of its CSR initiative to spread awareness of renewable energy sources amongst children to initiate early adoption of environment friendly energy usage, amongst the community.

Shantanu Mitra, MD & CEO of Fullerton India said, "Fullerton India, is invested deeply in the development of rural India and its people and is committed to helping the community in advancing their lives and livelihoods, thus improving their incomes and standard of living."

He further added that Fullerton India is committed to promoting use of alternate energy. "Two of our rural Gramshakti branches run purely on wind and solar energy and we plan to convert 360 branches across the country into "green" branches in the near future."
