Fujifilm launches hi-tech digital cameras

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Fujufilm, the Japanese Electronic imaging major, introduced 16 new digital cameras. With the new line up that includes A, C, J, T, L and X-series cameras, the company eyes at 10 per cent market share in Asia by this year end.

The cameras, it said, have optical technology with highly sensitive sensors in addition to fast image processing capabilities. Fujifilm is the third best selling product in Japan, much ahead of Panasonic and Nikon, the company said.

Fujifilm business is segmented into various verticals. Imaging solutions 16 per cent; document solutions 43 per cent; and information solutions constitute 41 per cent. With a variety of technologies, the company invests in R&D activities.

Kenichi Tanaka, MD, Fujifilm India, said that they have grown 10 times over a period of four years in India. “We want to be on top league in next three years, and targeting 15 per cent market share by the end of 2012,” he said.

The new digital cameras have a capability to directly share pictures over social networks.

By foraying into interchangeable lens cameras, it will appoint distribution channel in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The company has enabled auto time stamp in the new range.

“We plan to reach out to at least 50,000 individuals through Facebook, although 20,000 fans have already been added," the company informed.

The company has signed Bollywood actress and model Minissha Lamba as its brand ambassador. The company is looking at Rs 1,000-crore revenue by 2015.
