PARIS: A project will be finalized during the first quarter of 2011 and here the goal is to start rolling out the finalized solution as of 2011 to the 19 French nuclear power stations and the EDF support units. Related work on the information system has started a few months ago.

The goals of this new system, based on business objects and ETL Informatica technologies, are to help EDF: facilitate the consolidation, common reference base, shared by the various concerned parties; and encourage best practices, both in terms of IT and business processes, said Sopra Group that has been selected by EDF.

The EDF Engineering Production Department has selected Sopra Group, a provider of consulting and information services, to handling the implementation of the business intelligence component of the Nuclear Department's information system as part of an overhaul program, as Sopra shares in a press release.

Provisionally budgeted at several million euros, the business intelligence component consists of setting up decision-making assistance tools to prepare dashboards and analysis models used by the EDF Engineering Production Department. These tools will also be used to support operational processes, according to group.
