Fortis signs 5-year outsourcing deal with HCL

MUMBAI, INDIA: India's Fortis Healthcare, which acquired 10 hospitals from Wockhardt Hospitals recently for Rs 9.1 billion, to become the largest hospital group in the country, said that it has outsourced its IT operations to HCL Technologies for a period of five years.

While talking to CIOL, J.S. Puri, VP - Corporate Affairs & IT Enterprise Solutions, Fortis Healthcare Ltd, said that Fortis has also signed a public private partnership (PPP) agreement with the Delhi Government to run over 250 state-of the-art ambulances in Delhi region alone.

“These ambulances will have all latest technologies including GPS and wireless connectivity to ensure efficient operations,” said Puri. “The ambulances will operate from a centralised location in Bela Road.”

However, Puri did not disclose the financials of the deal with HCL.
