BANGALORE: Silicon Valley start-up Euclid Inc., has roped in Patty Azzarello as the company's president and chief executive officer. She had been a senior vice-president and chief marketing officer of Polycom, prior to this and was vice-president and general manager of Hewlett-Packard's HP OpenView business, before. As part of this announcement, Azzarello will also join the board of directors. Founded by three Indians, Rao Cherukuri, Sateesh Andra, Delip Andra, Euclid is engaged in providing business-centric IT management software that enables corporations to achieve effective IT governance. By appointing Azzarello the company plans to expand its position as a leader and innovator in the rapidly expanding IT management marketplace.

Azzarello will define Euclid's future product technology vision and roadmap, build Euclid's brand, and enhance the sales channel and go to market strategy. Sateesh Andra, who served as president, will now be responsible for business development and corporate strategy.

"For me, Euclid represents an incredible opportunity at just the right time. IT organizations are struggling more than ever to find a way to communicate their performance and value in a vocabulary that is understood by the business. IT governance has become a key initiative for companies driven by overall corporate governance requirements. These pressures are driving CIO's to proactively measure real business metrics not just IT metrics, and prove that IT investments are optimized to deliver the highest business impact and value to shareholders," says Azzarello.

In October 2003, Euclid announced its latest round of financing, raising $8 million led by Bay Partners and including new investor, Pacesetter Capital. Euclid will use the new funding to support its growth strategy and to expand sales, marketing and product development initiatives.
