BANGALORE: In yet another incident against the Indian software professionals across the globe, i-flex solutions limited European subsidiary’s CEO has been detained in London since yesterday. This was confirmed by the company’s spokesperson, Peter Yorke from London to CIOL.

"Although no official information has been received, he has been detained by the authorities in London," said Yorke. It is learnt that Nasscom has intervened and is in talks with the concerned people for the quick release of the top official of i-flex.

Apparently 14 employees of i-flex, stationed in the Netherlands, were called for interrogation by the Dutch authorities regarding their visa and the purpose of their visit. They were on a short visit to Netherlands implementing the company’s banking solution in one of the customers' site in the country. All of them were released the same day.

However as part of the same exercise the London police detained the company’s European CEO, who was based out of London. As per the request the company’s European CEO name has not been revealed. As of now the authorities in London have still detained him. However, the company along with Nasscom is working towards his quick release.

In the recent past, Indian software professionals have been subjected to unwaranteed harassment in various countries. Quite recent were the infamous arrest of Polaris CMD Arun Jain by the Indonesian government and the Malaysian government's undue harassment of Indian software professionals in Malaysia.

i-flex's flagship banking solution, Flexcube, was recently ranked number one banking solution by IBS. The company is one of the leading software product and services company in the country.
