Femtocell unit sales to reach 25 mn in 2014

Femtocells deployment in the country has not been able to arouse the enthusiasm of service providers. Nonetheless, analysts worldwide are eyeing it as a viable option for future innovations and growth.

Informa has come up with a new research which forecasts that number of femtocells in the market is expected to grow to 49 mn by 2014, with an estimated 114 mn users accessing services through mobile gateways.

Despite femtocells having been in the market , it is now that the technology is experiencing its first sign of maturity with several tier-1 operators deploying it using various business models.
