Fakeoff unveils reality of fake popularity drive of Indian politicians

NEW DELHI, INDIA & TEL AVIV, ISRAEL: Fakeoff, an application on Facebook, which helps you find out fake user profiles and pages, have conducted an algorithm check on 15 Indian politicians' Facebook pages which gaining popularity on social media by increasing their likes day by day.

Our youth are getting webbed daily by fake promotions, profile and pages which mislead them and land them into redundant situations; this app allows you to check who is a genuine user in your friend list.

Test run by app developer Eliran Shachar of Israel got the result that in more than 20 percent of pages "like" was from foreign users which have no connection with our country and few generally where dormant users 33 percent pages have likes of those users which hardly use their profile. Even few pages have no relation with the campaign but are unnecessarily gaining attention. This needs to be taken seriously because in the era of emerging social media it can affect public opinion.

Fakeoff helps youth to protect themselves by keeping a check on their real time situation of friend list, which at least saves them from getting webbed by unrealistic promotions, sexual abuse, unwanted offers and spammers.

This application is designed in such a manner that allows you to filter those friends who either have used fake image or have updated information which is not related and copied from somewhere it will also tell you suspect level of that page or profile by rating pattern, an algorithm check also suggest you necessary steps need to be taken in order to protect yourself.

Indian cyber law states that every false identity and IP address should be penalized so this is the best way to find out suspect in your surroundings even political campaigns which trying to misguide people with their fake numbers.
