The awards recognize the leaders in Internet Protocol (IP) communications, and are presented each year by Internet Telephony magazine.

“We are proud to present F5 with a 2008 Internet Telephony Excellence Award. The VIPRION Application Delivery Controller has proven its outstanding contribution to IP communications and delivered winning solutions for its customers,” said Rich Tehrani, editor-in-chief of Internet Telephony.

VIPRION is the industry’s first Application Delivery Controller (ADC) that scales seamlessly with an organization’s business needs without sacrificing manageability or simplicity, said a press release. It features top-end ADC performance four times greater than that of any competitive product.

And unlike other ADC platforms, performance blades can be transparently added on-demand - without any disruption - as network environments and applications require increased processing power, it said.

“Taking risks to advance VoIP technology and provide real solutions has earned F5 recognition from the editors of Internet Telephony. VIPRION has excelled in delivering applications and its customers are extremely pleased with the results,” added Greg Galitzine, editorial director of Internet Telephony.

“Since the product’s introduction in early 2008, we’ve seen tremendous interest from the telecommunications industry based on VIPRION’s unparalleled availability and scalability,” said Jason Needham, Sr. Director of Product Management at F5.

“…Awards like this confirm that VIPRION scales as needed to meet the demanding, evolving needs of the VoIP/IP communications market,” he added.
