F5 extends storage tiering to cloud

SEATTLE, USA: Application delivery networking solutions provider F5 Networks Inc. enhanced its data solutions portfolio, including ARX Cloud Extender solution, ARX Virtual Edition (VE) appliance, and F5 iControl file services solution.

The company says that these enhancements will help customers to extend file storage infrastructure from data centre to cloud, accelerate return on investment for automated storage tiering, and provide deployment options for F5 data solutions.

“F5’s API initiative for ARX will enable our partners and customers to realize the same kinds of benefits that our iControl API has long provided on the network side for BIG-IP application delivery controllers,” said Kathleen Ferraro, VP, Data Solutions Product Management and Marketing, F5.

F5 has extended ARX’s storage tiering capabilities to support cloud storage services and is compatible with with Amazon S3, Iron Mountain VFS cloud storage, and NetApp StorageGRID.
