ESDS sets up new data center in Nashik

MUMBAI, INDIA: ESDS Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, a web hosting companies' group, have set up a new data center at the district town of Nashik in Maharashtra, located about 200 km from Mumbai city.

The tier III class data center is in the final stage before it rolls out services in December first week.

According to ESDS Software Solution's vice president Atul Mundada, “ The state-of-the-art data center building has been erected in a one acre plot, while the total constructed building area is about 40,000 square feet.”

“The data center floor occupies 10,000 square feet space, while the remaining space is reserved for workstation and future expansion. It is built and owned by us and is fully optimized to deliver security, flexibility and continual improvement,” Mundada told CyberMedia News.

He also added that with this new data center, they would offer a range of services including managed dedicated servers, co-location facilities, server cluster solutions, server mirroring, virtualization, cloud computing and gird hosting. In addition, turnkey solutions would also be offered for customized hosting needs of small and large businesses.

For its managed dedicated servers, customers have the options to pick the hardware specification and operating systems which include Dell and HP servers with the latest Intel Nehalem (i7 Core) processors along with Windows and Open Source based operating systems.

The data center floor has been built using cutting-edge technology that reduces sensible heat load by almost 97 per cent and humidity monitoring system to ensure the environment inside the facility remains optimal.

This apart, the data center has multiple-layer network security beefed by Cisco's Anomaly Detector and Anomaly guard against DDoS attacks along with data security managed by firewalls, anti malicious software applications, secure virtual private networks (VPN) etc.

ESDS, so far has invested Rs 24.75 crore for setup of the new data center that includes the workstation floor as well as the reserved floor for further business expansion.

“Our data center has been built from our own funds and no mortgage or partnership was considered for this project,” Mundada stated.

Presently, the company is targeting co-operative banks, small scale industries and enterprise customers which need application hosting as well as website hosting for high traffic business websites.

“Our data center will be fully operational in the first week of December 2009. Managed dedicated server hosting will be the most popular hosting service in India, just like we have in the US and the UK,” he suggested.

In terms of pricing, ESDS appears more competitive and aggressive.

“We will be offering co-location for servers starting from Rs 10,000 per month and dedicated server hosting starting from Rs 15,000 per month. We will also be offering 100GB bandwidth with each of the co-located server and 200GB with each of the dedicated servers,” Mundada said.
