Ericsson expands operations in Jaipur

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Telecom networking equipment maker Ericsson has added a new assembly line at its supply site in Kukas, Jaipur for the production of its multi-standard Radio Base Station (RBS) 6000 modules locally.

“The telecom industry is playing a very significant role in the growth of the Indian economy. We recognize the long standing contribution of Ericsson in the growth of telecom infrastructure in India. The enhancement of local manufacturing capabilities will boost this sector by reducing the time to market and will also result in quicker uptake of new technologies,” said Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot while inaugurating the new assembly line.

P Balaji, VP Communications, corporate affairs and business development, Ericsson India, said: “The addition of the assembly line will further develop our delivery capabilities in the region. With the introduction of new technologies, including 3G and TD-LTE, in India, the time is right for us to extend our capabilities to better support our customers. This step also reinforces our commitment to India.”
