CIO agenda on Cloud Computing
Posted by Moderator, CyberMedia India Online Ltd on 11/14/2008      |   Reply
Cloud computing has been touted as the next disruptive technology to impact businesses. According to research analyst Forrester, cloud computing is a very low cost, no-commitment way for enterprises especially small businesses to quickly get new services and capabilities to the market, that entirely circumvents the IT department.

As a CIO,

What are your expectations from cloud computing?

Is cloud computing a part of your IT strategy for 2009?

If yes what are the functions you are planning to move to the cloud?

Do you think cloud computing will lift a huge load off the IT department?

Dear Vivek,
My take on the subject would be that this technology should be simple, fat, easy to implement, cheaper and take away day to day worries of CIOs.

Cloud Computing is new dimension to online computing.

Few Benifits which I can see by going ahead with Cloud Computings are..

1. Cloud computing infrastructure allows enterprises to achieve more efficient use of their IT hardware and software investments
2. Speed
3. Any time any where availibility to data to end user
4. Automation

Cloud computing offers almost unlimited computing power and collaboration at a massive scale for enterprises of all sizes.
