HYDERABAD, INDIA: FXLabs Inferno would be soon out in the market. The Hyderabad-based company would complete the production of the game, being developed using the Unreal 2.5 engine, within the next four weeks.
Inferno is the company’s first game to hit the stores.
Inferno is being targeted at personal computers with high-end processors and next generation graphic accelerators. FXLabs deputed 40 professionals to work on Inferno.
Meanwhile, FXLabs is also eyeing to release Archie and Dhoom2 this year. While Archie is expected by November, Dhoom2 is slated to be released by the year end. Dhoom2 is based on Yashraj Films’ blockbuster with the same name.
Speaking to CyberMedia News, Tony Garcia, chief executive officer of the company, gave a whiff of Archie’s console partner without divulging into specifics.
“We are looking at Archie to be able to play well with one of the video game consoles. We will soon make the decision on the platform,’’ said Garcia.
Apparently, FXLabs is in talks with Ninetendo, PlayStation and Xbox to incorporate Archie in their gaming consoles. Quizzed on this, Garcia, without any specific disclosure said, “We are discussing this with the top three companies you can think of.’’
Marketing via partners
The marketing for Archie would be carried out through the comic book publisher’s distribution channel. “They sell almost a million comic books every month. So there are many creative ways that we can utilize to promote the game even when it’s being developed. This is a unique opportunity for us to really reach the base of Archie comics’ fans. They are also really excited about it,’’ said Garcia.
The company would also adopt a similar strategy for its upcoming games Inferno and Dhoom2.
FXLabs is also aiming to raise its headcount to 250 by next nine months.
